					<title>Great 2011</title>
					<link>http://glaskaros.com/blog.cfm?feature=2878802&amp;postid=1553480</link>
					<description>It&apos;s getting colder and colder outside and even though christmas is calling, I can&apos;t suppress a yearn for the hot days of summer. Which were the greatest.&amp;nbsp;I guess I&apos;m not the only one there.

(watching a sunset from the lake of Zurich)

Anyways, we had an awesome time throughout 2011. Playing cool shows along with great bands and you beautiful people coming to watch it. We were overwhelmed with the reactions and reviews about our debut EP Remedy. It&apos;s a pretty good feeling if you put so much of your heart and soul into something you love doing and there&apos;s someone apart from yourself who can dig it. So thank you very much for all your support. I also d&apos;like to thank Katarina Gromova for helping us out with the Keys on all our acoustic shows. Your dedication to our band means the world to us. Cheers to Oli &amp;quot;DiabOli&amp;quot; for the 2 acoustic shows you have played with us in February. I really hope we collaborate again some time.
&amp;nbsp;

We were able to play a few shows outside and it always rained. So we started to think this has to be our curse. And we made jokes about it. Glaskaros outside means rain is coming.
It was so ridiculous but also true. I had and still have the biggest respect for all those who were standing there to watch us given the circumstances. I mean I really don&apos;t think I would&amp;nbsp;have done it. I watched U2 in the pouring rain and I loved it. But A: we&apos;re not U2 and B: we didn&apos;t have a UFO 360&amp;deg; superstage to offer. You know what I mean.

So whenever it wasn&apos;t raining and we weren&apos;t playing we spent our time either in our rehearsal room composing new stuff or going for a boat-ride with our friend Yves &amp;quot;Crazy Yves Betschmann&amp;quot;.

&amp;nbsp;
He&apos;s not only a talented goldsmith but also a passionate dub and electro producer. He&apos;s not the ableton live kind of guy. He works with the heavy analog comps and preamps with the big knobies. Knarly!!! He never recorded a Rock Band though, so we said let&apos;s give it a shot. His studio lies beneath his shop which is too small to record drums. Everyone who ever saw Frank playing the drums can imagine that it would have been unbearable loud. So we had to rent a 50 meter long multicore cable and drag it from the studio to a neighbors cellar.

&amp;nbsp;
After about 30 minutes of playing a guy came down to complain. He asked whether we&apos;re nuts. I mean we tried our best to isolate the room but Franks playing was even heard outside in the streets. Zurich &amp;quot;old town&amp;quot; is kinda&apos; like a village where everyone knows everyone and we didn&apos;t want Yves to get in trouble because of us, so we stopped it there and then and went for a boat ride again.

It was a shame it didn&apos;t work with the studio, for we really wanted to record directly through the monster of mixer that Yves had bought from Boris Blank of the Electro-Pioneers &amp;quot;Yellow&amp;quot;. So we recorded the drums in our rehearsal room where we tried to capture the best possible sound.&amp;nbsp;
For the Bass recordings we went back to Yves. We put the Bass amp right in to his shop and let it roar.

It was a great experience for all of us and eventually we&apos;ll let it slip.

In August we were invited to two radio stations in switzerland. We&apos;ve put one of the interviews including a live session on &lt;a target=&quot;_new&quot; href=&quot;http://soundcloud.com/glaskaros/interview-and-live-session-at&quot;&gt;Soundcloud. You can listen to it in the news section on our homepage too. It also contains two new songs. Serenity and Blind. Check &apos;em out.

All in all, 2011 was a great year for Glaskaros and I really hope you will like our new material as much as we do. We&apos;re looking forward to the 27 of January 2012. It&apos;s gonna&apos; be great to share the stage with &amp;quot;&lt;a target=&quot;_new&quot; href=&quot;http://www.deeptrip.ch&quot;&gt;Deep Trip&amp;quot; once more. We love the guys and we love their music.

By the way. I got myself 2 wisdom teeth removed in November.
I might not be clever anymore... but blondes don&apos;t have to be...

&amp;nbsp;
C u next year.
Cheers Pascal
